Did you know that DVA can provide free mental health treatment for any mental health condition without a requirement to prove that it is related to your service? This is called Non-Liability Healthcare. Non-liability healthcare is available to all current and former full-time members of the ADF with one day continuous full-time service and to some reservists in certain circumstances. You can find out more about who is eligible by visiting the link below. To access non-liability healthcare you will need a veteran white card that is approved for mental health treatment. For more information on the veteran white card, visit our information page at the link below or watch this video. Most veteran white cards cover mental health treatment. You can check online with MyService to see if yours does. MyService is an online platform accessed through myGov that helps you manage your DVA business. To find your card details on MyService log in and go to your card. Click on view card details, then conditions listed. You should see either all mental health conditions - treatment only, a specific mental health condition with treatment only, or treatment next to it. If your white card does not cover all mental health treatment, the application process on MyService is simple. Just go to claims and applications. Select free mental healthcare. Complete and submit the claim. If you are having any issues you can call us on 1800-VETERAN or email us on NLHC@dva.gov.au to inquire about eligibility and apply. Mental health treatments under Non-Liability Healthcare covers treatment for all conditions including- Post-traumatic stress disorder, PTSD depressive disorder, anxiety disorder, alcohol use disorder, substance use disorder, phobias, adjustment disorders, bipolar disorder. It is very important to note that not all mental health service providers accept the veteran white card as payment. You need to contact a provider before making any appointments to ensure they will accept your card. You should also be aware that the veteran white card does not cover non-liability healthcare treatment overseas. We're here to support you.
