The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) contains rules on how Australian Government agencies, organisations with an annual turnover of more than $3 million, and some other organisations handle your personal information. DVA is bound by the Privacy Act and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). The APPs outline how we collect, store, use and disclose personal information. The APPs also give you a right to access and correct the personal information we hold about you.

DVA also has privacy obligations under the Privacy (Australian Government Agencies – Governance) APP Code 2017 (the Privacy Code).
