How can veterans get involved in commemorative services?

Last updated

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) delivers commemorative activities on behalf of the nation to ensure the service and sacrifice of veterans is remembered, recognised and respected and the support provided by families of veterans is acknowledged.

A key element of these commemorative activities includes the planning and delivery of international Anzac Day services.

Expression of Interest (EOI) processes are undertaken to seek volunteers who are Australian Defence Force (ADF) veterans, or family members of ADF veterans, to support DVA in the delivery of international Anzac Day services.

Veterans and family members of veterans expressing an interest may be selected to support DVA to deliver international Anzac Day services in Türkiye (Gallipoli), France (Villers-Bretonneux), Thailand (Hellfire Pass), Malaysia (Sandakan), Singapore or Papua New Guinea (Isurava).

The EOI process to select volunteers and family members to support international Anzac Day services in 2026 closed on 3 August 2025, with DVA pleased to have received a significant number of applications.
