Known as RAAF - No. 62 Works Memorial: it is a brass plaque mounted on a stand inside Labuan airport.
History
The memorial commemorates the landing of the Australian Military Forces on Labuan Island on 10 June 1945 and the contribution of the RAAF - No.62 Works Wing Airfield Construction Squadron who worked around the clock under arduous conditions and Japanese attacks to reconstruct the heavily damaged Labuan airfield in six days to a stage where it could be used by RAAF aircraft.
