A national commemorative service will be held in Canberra on 14 September, recognising the 75th anniversary of Australia’s involvement in peacekeeping operations.

In Malaysia, 15 August is commemorated as Sandakan Memorial Day, with a service held to remember the prisoners of war who died in the region, and the local people who risked their lives to help them.
