This Reunion was well known for many years as the 'BLACKHANDERS REUNION' and held at RAAF Amberley in October. In 2021, to celebrate the RAAF Centenary year, the name was changed to RAAF and Amberley Reunion and to be held on the Second Saturday in March. The change in name reflected the inclusion of all Ex and Serving RAAF personnel. The next revamped event will start late morning and finish following a buffet meal in late afternoon. 8th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (8 RAR) LONG HAI MEMORIAL SERVICE

The NSW Branch of 8 RAR Association will hold the service at the Epping Club’s Memorial in Boronia Park at 10.30am. At this years’ Service, the Branch will dedicate a plaque at the Cenotaph in honour of Private Harry Winston White, Service Number 216009, who was Killed in Action in Vietnam on 16 May 1968, aged 23 years. We welcome former members of 1 RAR to join with 8 RAR Association in remembering Harry and the 18 soldiers from 8 RAR who paid the supreme sacrifice. Please advise of your attendance to Mick (below).

To commemorate the 55 years since 106 Fd Wksp formed at 1 ATF Nui Dat SVN on The Order of Battle 1st Nov 1968. 250 soldiers passed through the unit in our first twelve months of operation, with some 535 serving during our operational service until the Task Force closed down. We have still not found all those valuable RAEME/RAAOC and Catering Corps soldiers.
