22-25 Apr 22. The plaque will be dedicated in the RAAF Memorial Grove on the Federal Highway on Sat 23 Apr by the RAAF Padre with CAF in attendance. There will also be various social activities including an informal gathering on the Friday night and a dinner on the Sunday night at the Southern Cross Club. Ex-members and their partners are also welcome to attend the Dawn Service at the Australian War Memorial on 25 Apr, followed by a gunfire breakfast. The Anzac Day march commences at 11 am. 18-22 November 2021. Due to the ongoing Corona Virus situation our 2020 Reunion has now been rescheduled to 18-22 November 2021.
Each two years HQ1ATF Association holds a reunion and the rescheduled 2021 event will remember 50 years since we closed the gates of Nui Dat. It is anticipated that some 70 veterans and 60 wives/partners (a total of 130 people) will participate in the four day event. The reunion is an important part of the Association’s efforts in the healing process which is achieved through the continual networking of members and also importantly their partners and carers.
The Commemorative Dinner will be held on Saturday 20 November 2021 at the Old Parliament House (Museum of Australian Democracy). The dinner will be preceded by a Memorial Service at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on Anzac Ave, Canberra.

One off opportunity for 3 generations of HMAS Sydney crews to be together to commemorate the loss of HMAS Sydney II, this includes RAAF No; 9 Squadron, descendants and relatives of HMAS Sydney II. Drive/fly in vistors Meet and greet on 18th Nov 2021. Visiting RAN Warship to coincide with anniversary TBC. 5 day cruise TBC along with pricing, depart Fremantle 18th Nov, arrive Geraldton 19th then Meet and Greet FOE march briefing. Memorial Service Friday evening 19th Nov. Saturday 20th FOE march visiting warship TBC along with 645 Ex HMAS Sydney crews, RAAF No: 9 Squadron representatives, descendants and relatives all wearing a limited addition sublimation polo shirt and ball cap representing each crew member. On completion of march, Memorial concert and foreshore multi-purpose centre approx 19:00hr. Ships will sail for over night steam to resting site of HMAS Sydney II for a dawn service and scattering of ashes as requested.

This 2021 Session will coincide with the 80th Anniversary of the HMAS SYDNEY II that will be held in Geraldton WA. Our Annual Xmas Drinks for all WA S&S (ML) and Associates, Dress of the Day Loud Hawaiian Shirts, 12:00hr start to approx 16:00hr, bbq sausage sizzle or hamburgers cost of $2/$3 (depending on the day) bbq pack door prizes, all drinks at member prices. Our yearly catch up to check on each others health and well-being ensuring we continue with our health checks with many laughs and stories as always. This is a constantly growing event that has been now running for over 10yrs and now gaining interstate visitors which is great to see.
