Veterans have highlighted the importance of social connection when both transitioning to civilian life and recovering from physical injury.
DVA has listened. Funding for social well-being initiatives for those participating in a rehabilitation plan has been increased, providing veterans with access to a greater choice of rehabilitation activities.
Social wellbeing activities can include lifestyle activities, community groups, life-skills training, and social management support. Whether it’s taking guitar lessons or joining a sports club, DVA can help you access social wellbeing activities and achieve your rehabilitation goals.
If you are already on a DVA rehabilitation plan, your consultant will work with you to identify suitable activities.
If you are not on a DVA rehabilitation plan, you can send an email to rehabilitation@dva.gov.au requesting further information or call 1800 VETERAN (1800 838 372) and ask to speak with the rehabilitation team.
