The location of the new Veterans’ and Families’ Hub for the Hawkesbury region has officially been confirmed as 288 Windsor Street, Richmond. The historic former Richmond Courthouse site is in the heart of town providing easy access for veterans, families, and local service personnel.
The Richmond Courthouse will be restored and adaptively reused, giving new life to a significant public heritage building. When complete, approximately 20,000 veterans and families who live in the Hawkesbury/south-western Sydney region will be able to access tailored support closer to home.
Hubs offer better access to support, resources and services in one central location, and provide opportunities for social and community connection. Hubs can provide a wide range of services including financial assistance, housing support, advocacy, employment services, and wellbeing programs.
RSL LifeCare will continue to consult with the local veteran community to ensure their Hub services meet local community needs.
While construction of the Hub is underway, RSL LifeCare will deliver interim services to the region from Windsor RSL, 36 Argyle Street, South Windsor—expected to start late June 2025.
The Hawkesbury Hub is being delivered through a $5 million DVA grant and with the support of the NSW Government. It is part of the Australian Government’s $46.7 million commitment to establish eight new Veterans’ and Families’ Hubs across the country.
