Keeping veterans’ stories alive through nationwide commemorative projects

The Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Matt Keogh, announced 77 community groups, schools, local governments and ex-service organisations around the country will share in some $1.41 million through the latest batch of the 2024-25 Saluting Their Service (STS) Commemorative Grants Program.

The grants will support more than 70 community and major projects that are committed to preserving the stories of veterans.

The projects include publishing books, producing documentary series and podcasts, restoring memorials, creating places for reflection, and commissioning murals. The projects are dedicated to honouring those who have served this country, ensuring their contributions are remembered by future generations.

The STS Grants Program has been essential in connecting communities with the experiences of veterans. Since its launch in 1996, the program has supported a wide range of projects, each functioning as a meaningful and lasting tribute to those who have served.

Congratulations to all successful recipients. Your projects will ensure the stories of veterans and families are never forgotten.

The 2025-26 Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grants Program is currently open for applications. For more information about the program, including applying for the current round please visit the STS Grants web page.
